Should I book a Swedish or Therapeutic Massage?
Many
clients ask me about the difference between a Swedish and Therapeutic Massage
because they are unsure of which they should schedule. Here are a few
differences between the two services to help you decide which the best is for
you and your body:
No
matter what type of massage you receive your body will benefit. Both a Swedish
and Therapeutic Massage will help you achieve a deep state of relaxation while
increasing circulation and blood flow. If you are strictly looking to relax and
are not experiencing muscle pain or discomfort, a Swedish might be the best
option for you. During a one hour Swedish massage, your therapist will use slow
gliding strokes with a light to medium pressure to give you a full body
massage. Swedish massages are perfect after a long week at the office or after
an exam to put your mind and body at ease. A Therapeutic massage on the other
hand is perfect for relieving muscle tension or discomfort and improving range
of motion. During a one hour Therapeutic massage your therapist will implement
techniques to help loosen tense areas and break up knots using a medium to firm
pressure throughout your entire body.
If
you would like to receive a full body massage, which includes your back, neck,
shoulders, face, scalp, hands, feet, arms and legs, it is best to book a one
hour massage. Please note that if you schedule a thirty minute massage, your
therapist will have time to work on one or two areas of the body. If you feel
that certain areas need extra attention but that you would still like to
receive a full body massage, a 90 minute massage would be beneficial for you.
Please also ask about our other types of massages including Sports, Prenatal,
Deep Tissue, Hot Stone and our signature Rain Shower Massage. If you have any
additional questions please ask the receptionist or your service provider or
post a comment below!
