Spa Etiquette & What To Know Before You Go

Spa Etiquette & What To Know Before You Go

How should I go about booking my appointment?
Please call the spa at 508-643-0666 or come in to schedule your appointment with the receptionist. It is best to schedule your appointment about a week or two in advance. So that we are able to meet all of your requests, if you are booking multiple services or are booking for more than one person, especially if you are scheduling a weekend appointment, please call at least two weeks in advance, but sooner if possible. Please notify the receptionist of any allergies, recent injuries or surgeries, pregnancy, or medical conditions/health concerns upon scheduling your appointment. Also notify the receptionist of any special needs or requests such as a male/female therapist, a first floor treatment room, etc. upon scheduling. If you are booking an appointment for the first time please have a Visa or Mastercard on hand as we require this information to hold your appointment for you. A hold is not placed on your card and you do not need to pay for your service until it is received; your credit card is simply required to book your appointment for you.

What should I wear to the spa?
Please dress comfortably to any spa treatment. If you are receiving a massage, body wrap or scrub, facial, cellulite treatment or if you are using the hydrotherapy tub, the spa will provide you with a robe and sandals to change into upon arrival. Please disrobe to your comfort level. We will also provide you with a locker to place your personal belongings inside of. The Right Touch is not responsible for lost or stolen articles so please leave your valuables at home. If you do not wish to change into a robe and sandals for any reason please kindly notify the receptionist upon check in and we will have you wait in the reception area for your service provider. All guests wishing to enjoy the relaxation lounge must be wearing a spa robe and sandals. Clients coming in to receive microdermabrasion, glycolic/lactic acid treatments, waxing, consultations, hair or nail services do not need to change into a robe and sandals but should still wear attire that they are comfortable in.

Why do I need to arrive early?
All first time clients will be asked to fill out appropriate paperwork necessary for their specific treatment(s). Certain services allow for you to change into a robe and sandals upon arrival. To give appropriate time for paperwork, changing and unwinding in the relaxation lounge, please arrive 5-20 minutes early depending on the service you will be receiving. If you wish to utilize the steam shower or our infrared sauna we strongly suggest arriving at least 30 minutes prior to your service. All amenities are complimentary when receiving any service. You may also arrive early to begin your relaxation in the spa lounge.

What should I bring with me to the spa?
Please bring your form of payment and any coupons or gift certificates you would like to use. We accept cash, check, Visa, Mastercard and gift certificates from The Right Touch or SpaFinder gift certificates. You must present coupons and gift cards/certificates in order to use them toward your service. Gratuities are optional and not included in the price of services. If you would like to leave a tip for your service provider you may do so during checkout with cash or check. Feel free to bring your books and nooks to help you relax in the lounge while waiting for your treatment. If you are receiving a cellulite treatment or an Herbal body wrap or will be using the hydrotherapy tub, please bring a swimsuit.

Can I keep my cell phone on?
If you are not able to turn your cell phone off when entering the spa, please turn it to silent. Please do not use your cell phone or other electronic devices once inside of the spa. Cell phone use is strictly prohibited once entering the locker rooms, lounge and treatment rooms. If you are expecting an emergency phone call you may keep your cell phone on you, but please keep it on silent or vibrate out of respect of other clients enjoying their time at the spa.

Are children allowed at the spa?
Children under the age of 12 years old are not allowed at the spa unless receiving a service. For your child’s safety, please do not bring children under 12 years of age to the spa with you during your appointments. Any client under the age of 18 receiving a service at The Right Touch must first have a parent or guardian sign a parental consent form. Any client under the age of 13 must have a parent or guardian accompany them in a treatment room during their service.

What if I need to cancel?
Please give us a 24 hour notice for any cancellation, but more notice if possible. Regretfully, any cancelations within 4 hours of your appointment time will result in a 50% charge. If you fail to show up to any appointment, this will result in a 100% charge.

Can I come in with a group or host a spa party?
We welcome groups and parties up to 25 guests. Please contact the Spa Manager to organize a spa day specifically for your group. We will be sure to make it a memorable experience for any occasion. Please keep in mind that other patrons may be enjoying the spa during your visit so please be respectful to all clients by maintaining a quiet level of conversation.

Do I need to remove my makeup before receiving services?
No, that is not necessary. If you are receiving a facial your esthetician will remove any makeup on the face, neck and chest during the cleansing process. If you are receiving a body treatment or massage your therapist may perform a facial massage, but it does not matter if you have makeup on. If you do not wish you have your face, scalp or any other area of the body worked on please inform your service provider at the start of your treatment.

What else do I need to know before my trip to the spa?
If you are receiving a body scrub please do not shave 24 hours prior to your service. This may cause irritation to the skin and we want you to be as comfortable as possible for all services. It is not necessary to shave right before any service, but other than a body scrub, you can feel free to shave before a service if you’d like. Please remove your jewelry and watches when receiving massages, body treatments or facials. If you are receiving a waxing service please allow at least two weeks worth of hair growth and ¼ inch of hair. If you have any other questions pertaining to your visit or your service do not hesitate to ask the receptionist or your service providers. We are here to help you, pamper you, and make you as comfortable and relaxed as possible!
