When I should book Part 2: Waxing and Body Treatments

One of the most commonly asked questions to a receptionist is: “when should I come back for my next treatment?”  The answer to this question may vary, but there are some deciding factors that can help you figure out when the right amount of time is for you.

Before a vacation, you always want to look and feel your best. I suggest waxing to those who are taking a vacation.  Even if you are not taking a vacation, I love waxing because it lasts longer than shaving, takes a short amount of time to complete when having it performed by a professional, and leaves the skin very smooth for several days or sometimes weeks after. It’s a very easy and efficient alternative to plucking or shaving. Consider a wax if you don’t have the time to keep up with plucking or shaving or when you need your eyebrows shaped. Waxing removes hair from the root so it lasts longer and minimizes regrowth and ingrown hairs. An esthetician would recommend a wax every 3-6 weeks. Everyone’s hair grows at different rates and each individual hair grows in different stages at different times, so if you want optimal results, return for waxing when your hair reaches ¼ of an inch or longer.  Any shorter than that and there will not be enough hair for the wax to "grab" onto.  You will notice that the more you keep up with it, the easier the waxing becomes and the longer it lasts.

A body wrap is great to nourish the skin, increase circulation, detoxify and decongest the body’s tissues as well hydrate your skin. Body scrubs are an ideal way to rid your body of dry, dull skin. Body scrubs are an exfoliation treatment that gently buff away dry dead skin cells and leaves behind soft, radiant skin.  Body scrubs also leave the skin prepared to receive rich hydration in the form of either an application of body butter or a hydrating body mask. These treatments are extremely beneficial when received together and they are both performed in a delightful and relaxing manner. My personal favorite is the Lavender-Shea Body Wrap because it smells delicious, has a calming effect, and is perfect for a chilly day when you just want to be entangled in a heated blanket. The outcome of this treatment is amazing.  I have never felt as smooth and soft. Whether it is a dry fall night, a cold winter evening, a crisp spring morning, or after a long beach trip where the salt has absorbed all the moisture from your skin, this treatment is perfect for warming you up and moisturizing your skin making it feel smoother than ever before. I also highly recommend the Sea Salt Scrub, received under the Vichy Shower and performed with a hydrating body balm. It’s a unique and invigorating experience. A Massage Therapist or Esthetician would suggest these treatments ideally to be preformed seasonally however, plan them as often as you deem necessary.  If you want to relax in a different way than a massage or you want to look and feel your best, these treatments will help you do just that. Again, they are great at the change of the seasons where your skin is experiencing the most dryness, irritation and dehydration.

I would recommend calling to book your appointments a week or two in advance to ensure that you receive your desired service on a date and time that fits into your schedule. It's a great idea to schedule your next appointment during your visit. This way it won't slip through the cracks and you won't loose track of time. Try booking out two appointments ahead, especially if you like to be booked with a certain Therapist or Esthetician. Remember to call us at 508-643-0666 regarding any questions you have on services or to schedule your next appointment!
